Welcome to the Black Sea wine selection set. Here, we are exploring a story of winemaking at the coastline of the Black Sea.

Let's start with the indigenous white grape variety of Ukraine, Telti-Kuruk. Only a few vineyards in Ukraine made wine from "fox's tale"; this is how this grape variety can be translated. This fresh white wine has a complex palate of white mulberry, quince, hints of lemongrass and white peach. Perfect pairing for fish dishes, salads and grilled vegetables.

Sukholimansky is another indigenous white grape variety. This white wine from Frumushika-Nova is made non-filtered to maximise taste and fruity aromas and pronounced shades of citrus, peach and pineapple. Versatile wine for tricky food pairings or on its own. Also, this is an excellent example of the adoption of new winemaking techniques in Ukraine.

Another wine, which reflects the hot summers on the Ukrainian coastline, is Irsai Oliver from Villa Tinta. A Hungarian grape variety, which can be compared to Pinot Gris, but with more fragrance similar to Muscat. This elegant white wine has flower aromas of acacia, linden, and rose. Balanced acidity and delicate honey aftertaste made this wine an excellent pairing with different Asian cuisines, which are very popular in Ukraine.

Odesa Black is an indigenous Ukrainian red grape variety. It has a vibrant and intense colour with intense, well-integrated tannins and rich nose aromas of black fruits and spices. Its smooth texture and balanced acidity create a harmonious flavour profile on the palate. Grilled meat, kebab, or grilled red peppers are good company for this wine.
