Thanks to the dedication of winemakers, enthusiasts, and investors, Ukraine can share its rich history, dynamic modern winemaking scene, and promising future with wine lovers worldwide. Exciting new research is deepening Ukrainian producers’ understanding and appreciation of their precious viticultural inheritance, such as the properties of specific parcels, the effects of climate change on the terroir, and the character of their local varieties.

Ukraine’s flagship grapes – Odesa Black, Telti-Kuruk, Suholymanskyi, Zagrei, Citron Magaracha, and Yarylo – are spreading as climate change has expanded the area of the country suited to vinegrowing. New generations of winemakers are taking up the challenge of finding ways to work with the changing climate and craft a sustainable future for the industry.
