Introducing Villa Tinta
Hi! I’m Yurii, and together with my brother, we run Villa Tinta, a family-owned winery in the sunny south of Ukraine — the Odesa region.
Our story began in the early ’90s, but our roots go deeper. Over 120 years ago, the famous Château of Count Davidoff stood on this land. Today, our vineyards grow where history and nature meet.
Where Our Vines Thrive
We’re based in Danubian Bessarabia, a region shaped by the Karakurt River and Lake Yalpug — Ukraine’s largest natural freshwater lake.
The lake’s cooling effect and sandy loam soils help us grow grapes with:
-
Fresh acidity
-
Elegant structure
-
And a touch of minerality from the water’s edge

What We Grow
Across 300 hectares, we grow classic French & Italian varieties all from European clones.
But we’re most proud of our local heroes:
-
Sukholimansky white
-
Odesa Black red
These are true Ukrainian originals you must try, and they speak for our land.

Dark. Spicy. Unmistakably Ukrainian. Odesa Black: This richly colored red unoaked wine boasts aromas of blackberry, dark plum, and a hint of forest floor. With firm yet supple tannins, it’s equally at home alongside a slow-roasted lamb shoulder or savored solo as you watch the sun dip below the lake horizon. |

Fresh. Rare. Wildly Refreshing Sukholimanskii: A rare white grape native to the nearby steppe, Sukholimanskii offers a fascinating flavor profile—think green apple, white peach, and a whisper of honeysuckle on the finish. Its crisp acidity makes it a superb foil for fresh seafood or summer salads. |

Merlot: Grown on the sun-drenched hills beside Lake Yalpug, this Merlot reveals generous layers of ripe black cherry, plum, and a hint of mocha. Its smooth tannins and supple texture create a warm, lingering finish. A perfect partner for grilled meats, aged cheeses, or a cozy evening glass. |
